Cheryl L. Barrett
Chair of the BoardMs. Barrett is the Chair of the Board of Directors. She chairs the Planned Giving Committee and Executive Committee, and is a member of the Board Development Committee.
Ms. Barrett is a partner with Feruzzo & Ferruzzo, LLP in Newport Beach, and her practice is devoted entirely to Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration.
Ms. Barrett is a member of the California Bar Association, Estate Planning and Probate Section, the Orange County Planned Giving Round Table, and the National Committee on Planned Giving.
Samuel Anderson
Samuel Anderson is a member of the Board of Directors. He serves on the Budget & Finance and Executive Committees. Mr. Anderson serves on the board of Seracare Life Science, a global life sciences corporation. He has held numerous executive positions with Trancel Inc., Alpha Therapeutics, Coldwell Banker and Baxter Laboratories.
He has served on the board of directors at Chimertec Corporation, Grupo Grifols, Inc, Omnichrome Inc., Cytologic Biosciences, Cypress Biosciences and Hycor Biomedical. Mr. Anderson's charitable work includes Think Together, Mississippi College Foundation and Teen Challenge, in addition to Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church.
Robert O. Briggs
Mr. Briggs is a member of the Board of Directors, and chairs the Property/Retail/Donation Advisory Committee. Under Mr. Briggs' leadership and former ownership, Briggs Electric became one of the leading electrical contractors in all of Orange County. Mr. Briggs is now a developer and syndicates small to medium sized industrial buildings throughout Southern California.
Mr. Briggs was involved as a volunteer consultant on the expansion of Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach and is on the Board of Directors for the Santa Ana Country Club
Kathy Bronstein
Ms. Bronstein is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Property/Retail/Donation Advisory Committee. Ms. Bronstein is the President of KB Bronstein Consulting, whose clients range from well-established public companies to entrepreneurial start-ups. She is a business development strategist and consultant specializing in the retail and fashion trades.
With a career in the apparel industry spanning more than 25 years, her expertise covers every aspect of both the business and creative sides.
Richard Callaghan
Richard Callaghan is a member of Board of Directors and serves on the Resource Development Team. He is the CEO and chairman of Covenant Property Advisors LLC, an equity capital firm specializing in high-rise residential, industrial and commercial properties. For over forty years Mr. Callaghan has held securities principals and insurance licenses.
He has served on the board of Western Interstate Bancorp and continues to serve on the UCLA Foundation Board of Trustees. He brings both financial expertise and a passion for Goodwill’s mission of helping others gain personal and economic independence.
Steven M. Coyne
TreasurerMr. Coyne is the treasurer of the Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Committee and Public Policy/Affairs Committee. He served as Chairman of the 2008 Walter Knott Award Luncheon. Mr. Coyne is a commercial real estate development professional at the Coyne Development Corporation whose projects extend throughout Riverside, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Prior to starting his firm, he was the Vice President of LNR Property Corporation.
With extensive experience in strategic planning, project management and finance, Mr. Coyne brings solid leadership skills and direction that will help guide Goodwill's future growth.
Laura Dang
Laura Dang is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Resource Development Team. She is Vice President, Private Banking Relationship Manager with Union Bank. With 24 years of experience in the banking industry, Ms. Dang has invaluable experience in sales, management and leadership working with high net worth individuals and business owners.
As a volunteer she joins many of the area’s top professionals whose backgrounds cover a breadth of experience who all share a passion for Goodwill’s mission.
Shauna Farley
Ms. Farley is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Resource Development Team. Ms. Farley is the Executive Director of the Waltmar Foundation, whose mission is to support the college's comprehensive academic opportunities to the community for lifelong learning. In addition to her experience in providing financial and technical assistance to non-profit organizations, she brings over 35 years experience as a speech and language pathologist.
She brings an exciting passion for community education as well as her considerable skills in working with people with disabilities or barriers to independence.
Scott M. Giacobello
Scott Giacobello is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Audit Committee. He is the Vice President of Finance for Allergan, a multi-specialty health company. Giacobello possesses a unique blend of talent, skills and business acumen including internal audits and compliance functions as well as acting as co-lead in the company's enterprise risk management program.
His career as a financial professional brings significant expertise to his role as a member of Goodwill's Audit Committee, where he is able to advise on the unique challenges of financial planning and management as well as fundraising, tax issues, accounting practices, budgeting, cash management and investments. Giacobello received a Bachelors of Business Administration from Notre Dame. Giacobello is a member of the America Institute of Certified Public Accountants and serves as Treasurer for the Notre Dame Club of Orange County.
Cindy Gittleman
Ms. Gittleman is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Resource Development Team and the Executive and Board Development Committees. She co-Chaired the 2006 and 2007 Walter Knott Award Luncheons. In addition to her role with Goodwill, Ms. Gittleman has also served on several committees with the City of Newport Beach and has been instrumental in preserving the limited natural habitat of that area.
As one of the founding partners of L&C Development and L&C Management, Ms. Gittleman owns and manages a range of properties and assets. Ms. Gittleman is also the owner of California Marketing Group and Los Altos Trophy Company the latter which was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2009 with the Outstanding Corporation or Business (Fewer than 30 employees) National Philanthropy Day Award.
Greg Gluchowski
Mr. Gluchowski is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Budget & Finance Committee.
He is president of Hardware and Home Improvement Group of Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. In his former role with the company he served as the vice president of global operations. Prior to Black & Decker he spent 14 years with Phelps Dodge Corporation in a variety of senior executive positions. Mr. Gluchowski has a BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University and holds a MBA from Indian University, Fort Wayne. He brings both excellent professional experience and a true passion for Goodwill's education, training and employment services as well as its numerous business solutions.
John B. Heffernan
Vice ChairMr. Heffernan is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Committee. He chairs the Audit Committee and serves on the Board Development and Corporate Compliance Committees.
Mr. Heffernan is a managing partner in the law firm of Heffernan & Boortz, where he concentrates on commercial, industrial and retail real property transactions.
He also owns and manages a range of properties and assets. His focus is finance, organizational development and strategic planning. He has been active in a variety of community service organizations including Second Harvest Food Bank (as past Chairman), Hoag Presbyterian Hospital (past member of the Board of Directors), Andersen Public School, Mater Dei Catholic High School, Santa Margarita High School, Sacred Heart Retreat Center in Santa Ana and Verbum Dei High School in Los Angeles. He was twice elected to the Newport Beach City Council and served as Mayor in 2005.
Bradley Hilgren
Mr. Hilgren is a member of Goodwill’s Board of Directors. He is a principal at High Rhodes Investment Group, a commercial real estate firm. Prior to forming High Rhodes, Mr. Hilgren was president and CEO of Lowe Enterprises Real Estate Group, with over 28 years of investment, development and operating experience.
With a diverse background in leadership roles, management, finance and marketing, he is able to provide sound business knowledge in his role with Goodwill.
K. Brian Horton
Brian Horton is chairman emeritus and currently serves on the Executive, Budget and Finance, and Audit Committees. He is also a member of the Investment Committee. Mr. Horton previously served as Chairman in 2009 - 2010 and Treasurer of the Board in 2003 - 2004.
Mr. Horton is President of 1st Enterprise Bank and was formerly President/Southern Division of Mellon 1st Business Bank, with oversight responsibility of Orange County, South Bay and Inland Empire Regional offices.
John M. Kearney
Mr. Kearney is a member of the Board of Directors and chairs the Goodwill Invitational Advisory Team. In 2008 he served as an Ambassador for the Working for Independence Luncheon. He is a Vice President for the Consumer Banking Group’s Orange County Market of U.S. Bank. Both Mr. Kearney and his employer have provided vital support for Goodwill’s programs. U.S. Bank was the Presenting Sponsor for the 2010 Goodwill Invitational.
Dedicated in his commitment to youth and underserved members of our community Mr. Kearney volunteers for both Junior Achievement’s JA Day and garners support of United Way’s Corporate Pledge Drive.
Michael Perry
Michael Perry is a member of the Board of Directors, and serves on the Executive and Corporate Compliance Committees. Mr. Perry is a Vice President and Account Executive at DLD Insurance Brokers in Irvine, where he actively services the Property & Casualty needs of several companies throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
Mr. Perry also served on the board of the California Association of Insurance Professionals as Treasurer in addition to serving as a committee member of the American Cancer Society.
Thomas S. Salinger
SecretaryMr. Salinger is Secretary of the Board of Directors and chairs the Corporate Compliance Committee. He serves on the Executive Committee. He is a partner and former section head of the Trial Section of Rutan & Tucker, LLP. He has extensive experience in construction, landslide, real estate, title insurance and commercial litigation. Salinger currently serves as co-chair of the firm's Construction Law Practice Group and is an active member of the firm's Financial Practices Group.
Mr. Salinger is a member of local, state and national Bar Associations and has been actively involved as a board member for Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Thrift Stores and CHOC Padrinos.
David Seidner
Mr. Seidner is a member of Goodwill’s Board of Directors. He is co-owner of Cardinal Development, a real estate firm specializing in the development of commercial projects throughout Southern California.
Mr Seidner and his wife are actively engaged with their children’s schools by serving on boards and fundraising committees, as well as supporting several charities that include their church, Court Appointed Special Advocates, World Vision and Operation Smile.
Todd Tripp
Mr. Tripp is a member of the Board of Directors. He serves on the Goodwill Invitational Advisory Team. He has served as Chair of the Goodwill Invitational Golf Tournament Committee for multiple years. He is a Financial Representative for the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and specializes in Estate Planning, Executive Benefits, Personal Life Insurance and Investment Allocation.
Mr. Tripp has also served on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Bar Foundation and as the New Business Capital Campaign Chair for the Orange County United Way. He has been involved with the United Way Endowment Committee and their Tocqueville Society.
A Richard Trueblood
Mr. Trueblood is a member of Goodwill's Board of Directors. He is the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Del Mar Industries, a manufacturer that specializes in zinc &, magnesium die-casting for an array of industries from aviation to telecommunications.
His long career has provided him with expertise in many facets of business including operations, finance, corporate compliance and strategic planning. He also serves on the board of 1st Enterprise Bank.
Michael Valentine
Mr. Valentine is a member of the Board of Directors and served as Chairman in 2007-08. He is a member of the Board Development Committee, and serves on the Resource Development and Property/Retail/Donation Advisory Teams. A third generation Orange County real estate professional, Mr. Valentine has developed, constructed, managed and sold multiple projects throughout California.
Mr. Valentine is now Managing Director of Construction Management for RiverRock Real Estate Group.
Laurence J. Weese
Mr. Weese is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Property/Retail/Donation Advisory Team. He is president of Citivest Commercial, a full-service real estate investment company specializing in ground-up development, redevelopment and property reprovisioning.
Previously, Mr. Weese was a partner at Hopkins Real Estate Group in Irvine and prior to that engagement, he was a broker with Colliers Seeley, a president of Paul Laurence and Associates and senior vice president of Sienna Designs.
