Women of Goodwill
The Women of Goodwill are committed to putting people to work by raising funds and awareness to support Goodwill’s education, training and employment services. Vision
The Women of Goodwill are committed to putting people to work by raising funds and awareness to support Goodwill’s education, training and employment services. Whether individuals are re-entering the job market or joining the workplace for the first time, the Women of Goodwill believe that Goodwill can provide the essential tools to empower them to attain greater self-sufficiency, confidence and personal worth. Last year, thousands of people with disabilities and other disadvantages were transformed through the power of work. With slow economic growth projected in 2012, even more people will come to Goodwill seeking a path toward economic and personal independence. The Women of Goodwill have stepped forward to ensure that these life-changing programs are available to even more people.
Leadership
Founded by volunteers, Kathy Bronstein, former Vice-Chair & CEO of Wet Seal Inc., and Michelle Patterson, CEO of Event Complete & TouchPointe, the Women of Goodwill are looking for individuals with the influence and passion to help put people to work.
Impact
The Women of Goodwill direct their time, energy and financial resources so that local men and women have the tools to find competitive employment that will help support their families. Members make a commitment to contribute $1,000 annually to support Goodwill’s education, training and employment services. The funds raised by Women of Goodwill further the reach of Goodwill’s mission and make a lasting impact on the lives of the people we serve. For example:
$1,000 – provides four program participants with the basic needs for job interviews: 90 days of bus transportation, voucher for an interview outfit and personal care kit
$2,500 – provides a program participant with a 12-week job training program in preparation for supported employment
