Goodwill Of Orange County Partners With College Hunks Hauling
Goodwill to offer a new fee-based option for 48 hour home pick-up services
SANTA ANA, June 1, 2010 - Goodwill of Orange County recently announced that they have contracted with College Hunks Hauling to provide a new option to Orange County area residents who wish to donate their unwanted items to charity more quickly. Goodwill will now offer two options for home donation pickups: donation drop off sites located throughout the county and 48 Hour, Priority Paid Pick-Up Service.
The new Priority Paid Pickup will allow residents to have their items removed and donated within a 48 hour timeframe through this new partnership with College Hunks Hauling. The priority service does charge a fee but includes additional benefits such as the removal of items from anywhere inside the property, as well as the removal of junk and items Goodwill cannot accept. Goodwill donors will receive a discount off the regular pricing of College Hunks Hauling. The donation is still tax-deductible when using the new 48-hour priority service option.
This program evolved due to the high volume of requests for pick-up service, which Goodwill has not provided for several years due to excessive transportation costs. The new fee-based service will accept items that may be difficult for donors to transport including furnishings, mattresses, box springs and sleeper sofas. “By partnering with College Hunks Hauling to leverage their environmental expertise and customer service, we are able increase our donation volume, and give the area residents a value-added service,” said Anne Martin, Vice President of Operations/Sales Goodwill of Orange County.
By offering this option, Goodwill believes it will increase its capacity to provide people with disabilities and other barriers the opportunity to achieve their highest levels of personal and economic independence. “We are excited about the partnership, because it helps turn our vision of servicing the community and environment into a reality,” said Nick Friedman, President of College Hunks Hauling.
Residents will benefit from a significant discount and can schedule their no-obligation priority service hauling and donation estimates online at the custom-booking page: www.CollegeHunksHauling.com or by calling 888-461-5241 and identifying themselves as a Goodwill donation partner with a request for pick-up service. They can also visit the Goodwill website and request the priority service by going to www.ocgoodwill.org.
